Learning Speaking Through Cake Application: A Narrative Study
This study discussed learning speaking through an application. During the past pandemic, students felt difficult to understand the lesson materials from home. For that, students need learning support applications. In English, many applications support learning, one of which is Cake Application. This research aims to examine how Senior High School students use this application to learn English, especially in speaking where the English material in Senior High School has a lot of practice. This research is classified as narrative research by using the thematic analysis of Braun and Clarke. This study used Brown's theory related to speaking skills and supported theories related to Cake application. The researcher collected data through interviews. From this study, it can be concluded that Cake applications can improve students’ speaking skills in their own way using this application. This result based on the participants’ explanation about their story when using Cake application when learning speaking.
