Investigating EFL Students' Emotional Responses in Critical Reading Class During Distance Learning : A Narrative Approach
This study aims to explore the emotions of EFL students as a response to learning critical reading during the COVID-19 pandemic. The lecturer implemented the use of software applications so that students could access them and express their knowledge critically or not. This research was designed with a narrative inquiry approach. Semi-structured interviews with EFL students, consisting of males and females aged around 19–21 years old from the English Education Department at IAIN Pekalongan, were used to collect data. The researcher used interviews to obtain the data. A data analysis technique had been used in Pekrun's theory about positive and negative emotions. This study is expected to provide an overview of students' emotional responses in a critical reading class.
